Don’t be alarmed people, all those RCMP officers, St. Albert firefighters and bomb squad personnel who will be rushing about the parking lot of Grandin Park Plaza Thursday morning are just practicing.
St. Albert Fire Services and a unit from the RCMP K Division in Edmonton will be undergoing cross-training exercises Thursday from approximately 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The exercises will demonstrate the co-operation between emergency services and will consist of personnel from St. Albert Fire Services, the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit, as well as several emergency vehicles including a Fire Services aerial truck. It also provides each department with the opportunity to enhance their services through a mutual training day, said a press release issued by training officer Corey Schram of St. Albert Fire Services.
