Morinville RCMP investigate armed robbery

The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, as well as two 26oz bottles of dark rum.

Morinville RCMP is investigating an armed robbery in Sturgeon County yesterday evening where the suspect threatened to shoot a convenience store employee if they didn't turn over cash. 

On May 31 at around 7:35 p.m. the Morinville were sent out to deal with an armed robbery where a lone male wearing a mask, gloves and a hoody, entered the Calahoo convenience store with a handgun, the RCMP press release said. 

The suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, as well as two 26oz bottles of dark rum.

"The suspect drove away in a white coloured, possibly a Kia, medium/compact sport utility vehicle, with the rear plate remove."
