A second DynaLife lab location opened in St. Albert this week.

On Monday the lab services opened in Tudor Glen, which is the second location in the city. The first lab is on Boudreau Road.

St. Albertans needing lab work such as blood tests, urinalysis, and glucose and lactose tolerance tests will need to do so through DynaLife.

In 2021, the DynaLife facility in St. Albert handeled over 88,000 patients. Now that the second location is open the two facilities are expected to be able to handle between 135,000 and 150,000 collections per year, according to previous Gazette reporting.

The DynaLife patient service centres only collect samples from patients, and testing is completed in DynaLife's downtown Edmonton lab.

DynaLife reached an agreement with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) in 2022 to start delivering lab services across Alberta starting on July 1, 2022.

Around 65 per cent of provincial lab work, roughly 50 million tests per year, will be preformed by DynaLIFE across Alberta with the contract with AHS.

DynaLifehas been delivering lab services in Edmonton and across northern Alberta for 25 years.

DynaLife will be responsible for laboratory testing of all community and non-urgent hospital lab work across the province.
