BREAKING: UCP's Dale Nally wins second term in Morinville-St. Albert in close race

Dale Nally, UCP, is pulling in 51 per cent of the vote with Karen Shaw, NDP, bringing in 46 per cent of the vote.

With 19 out of 20 polls reporting, the UCP's Dale Nally is leading the race and on pace to win his seat back.

Nally was in a close race with the NDP's Karen Shaw but came out on top with 12,102 votes. Shaw was sitting at 11,053 votes just after 11 p.m. on Monday night. 

Nally is pulling in 51 per cent of the vote with Shaw bringing in 46 per cent of the vote. 

Wayne Rufiange of the Alberta Party earned 543 votes and Kurt Klingbeil locked in 210 votes. 

The local MLA's results mirrored his first campaign earning nearly the same percentage of the vote share his second time around.

During Nally's first election in 2019, he earned 13,435 votes (50 per cent) with NDP candidate Natalie Birnie bringing in 8,908 votes (33 per cent). The Alberta Party's Neil Korotash earned 3,963 votes in 2019, or 14 per cent.
