Eight off-duty firemedics from St. Albert are heading to Jasper at the request of the province to help fight the fire that has now moved into the townsite.
Late on Wedensday, July 24, the St. Albert Firefighters X account, formerly known as Twitter, said eight of their firemedics were being dispatched to Jasper to help with the fire.
At the request of the Province 2 apparatus with 8 off duty firemedics are now enroute to Jasper to assist with the valiant firefight going on right now. #jasper #stalbert #t8n

A wildfire burning in Jasper National Park that is burning out of control reached the town of Jasper on Wednesday night burning down buildings in its path.
First responders were pulled from Jasper National Park and sent to Hinton, while some firefighters remained in town to combat spot fires and maintain sprinkler lines.
