Crews are working to repair a gas leak in southeast St. Albert at this hour.
Firefighters were called to 12 Kildeer Ct. at 9:40 a.m. Tuesday morning. Twenty homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution, according to a city spokesperson. Within an hour, the residents were allowed to return home.
An Atco Gas crew is working on the leak.
St. Albert RCMP responded along with St. Albert Fire Services platoon and deputy chiefs, two engines and one rescue unit.
St. Albert Transit will be unaffected by the work, according to the city, which did not specify how the leak started.
