After reading the article in the July 31 Gazette I will go way out on a limb and take a guess that St Albert council will see a motion to change the name of Boudreau Road and Lucien Drive after the story regarding their namesake has been revealed.
Lucien Boudreau's jaded history was not something to do with the residential schools that took our indigenous children away from their parents in an ill-conceived effort to educate them.
It was that he voted against giving the vote to women in the early 1900s. Shame on him for such a misogynistic attitude! So must we now remove his name from our roads and erase him from the history of St. Albert as we have done with the Grandin name?
Let's see how our beloved council handles this one and remember that there is an election this fall.
