Rain and milder conditions have helped temper the Jasper National Park wildfires, but officials say fires are still out of control and the rain is expected to let up on Friday.

Critical infrastructure in Jasper has not been damaged by the ongoing complex fire, and fire crews continue to battle structure fires in the town, Parks Canada says.

“It is with heavy hearts that we report that this aggressive and fast-moving fire continues to burn in Jasper National Park."
