2021 Candidate Profile - City of St. Albert Council

Heron said she wants to focus on developing more defined climate targets for the city, revitalizing the downtown core, and protecting the Sturgeon River from development.

Jennifer Cote said transparency and community engagement would be her main priorities if she was elected as councillor.

In addition to prioritizing traffic issues, Ross Guffei said increasing council transparency would also be essential to him if elected.

In addition to supporting growth, Wes Brodhead said ongoing reconciliation work will also be a priority for him if re-elected, highlighting the healing gardens, as well as council’s past work in engaging Indigenous citizens.

A sixth St. Albert resident has joined the race for councillor in the upcoming municipal election this fall.

"I am still excited about St. Albert, and I feel confident that with the next council, we're going to be able to accomplish a lot this term."

Sandy Clark is the fourth St. Albert council candidate to announce ahead of the municipal election Oct. 18

Donna Kawahara is the third candidate to announce she will run for city council in the lead-up to the municipal election Oct. 18.

"As we move out of the pandemic, we're going to be facing larger impacts associated to the new reality … I believe it’s important that there’s some continuity as we move forward.”
