Of course Jamison wants the city to keep on providing his paper with revenue. The facts are however, small town newspapers like his long ago lost their relevance. People get their news by other means now. But taxpayers in St. Albert have deep pockets, apparently, so we will continue to subsidize irrelevant media.

There is in fact a sixth community garden in St. Albert. The 30 raised beds at Grandin Village
have been growing produce for six years now courtesy of the City's Environmental Initiatives Grant program.

St. Albert has had two successful annexations of land from Sturgeon County in the relatively short time I have been a resident and currently has another one underway to annex land from the City of Edmonton.
Before I cast my vote, there are questions I would like to see answered, questions such as: Do we want more growth? What are the costs of growth? Does new growth pay for itself? How long can St. Albert keep on growing? Are there limits to growth? Do established neighbourhoods suffer for want of resources that go to new growth? Is this at all sustainable?
Candidate who will curb the incessant and destructive sprawl that is a malaise upon the land throughout North America, who will bring reason and intelligence to municipal politics and some semblance of sustainability to our city, will have my vote this election. Unfortunately, I don't see much to chose from with this bunch.

Conservative governments in Alberta have habitually underfunded parks and protected areas for the simple reason that they see no value in protecting natural areas for future generations and this iteration of the cons is no different, except that the Kenney regime is considerably more blatant in its disregard for the greater good. They are abrogating their responsibility to care for public lands primarily because they don't care about them and secondly because they see opportunity down the road to divest the land and put some money in their coffers. Imagine, if you will, what an enterprising St. Albert land speculator might make from developing River Lot 56 into more urban sprawl and how little said speculator might pay for such public land with a judicious contribution to the campaign coffers of the UCP. It's not all that complicated...

Heaven forbid we should have to PAY for credible scientific information. Especially when Fox News spews it out for free.
Other sources out there readily confirm though that habitat loss is the number one cause of declining bird numbers. As for mortality, other factors, including fossil fuels, kill far more birds than windmills. "...the city's manager of emergency management..." We are obviously in good hands.
