Having read Doris Wench Eisler's review ("Stop the blame game and start valuing a sane, human society," July 8 Gazette) of Tim Andrew's letter to the Gazette, makes a person wonder if they can express themselves freely and told they do not know that a virus causes a disease. I imagine a conversation with her would shut down quickly as one feels they are being scolded and taught during a conversation.
I can only imagine the frustration of many businesses trying to survive with loans being taken out from the banks and the hardships people face during the pandemic. During the peak of the pandemic, I could see the fear in some shoppers' eyes, hoping the nasty virus does not creep up your mucus membrane.
"People want to return to a normal life" was the message I interpreted from Tim's letter. I also read that each component of social distancing will need to be examined to see what works and what does not work. As mutations continually evolve, including the D614G mutation, only time will tell how infectious and contagious this virus is.
