Eldest child of Wayland and Florence Vaughn of Macoun, Saskatchewan.
Gloria died peacefully at Venta Care Centre in Edmonton Alberta at the age of 88.
Our mother lived a full enriched life always devoted to her catholic faith and large family. She was a long-time member of the CWL. She so enjoyed her bridge club, senior games and adventures, many sewing projects, lifelong friendships, many from the crescent where her and Bill raised their family, and new friends she made along the way.
Gloria will always be remembered for her beautiful sense of style, especially her scarfs and hats, her dry sense of humor and very quick wit. "We will miss the confetti in our cards mom".
Gloria was predeceased by her husband Wasyl "Bill" Zielinski, her brothers Donald Vaughn and Wayne Vaughn, brother-in-law Ralph Hughes and loving son-in-law James Argue. She is survived by her siblings Louise Hughes, Worsel (Krys) Vaughn, Douglas (Catherine) Vaughn, Connie (Gregory) Brown. Her children Terri Argue, Kathy (Duncan) Campbell, Rodney (Diana) Zielinski, Susan (Greg) Brodeur, Steven Zielinski and daughter-in-law Cara Zielinski. Her 14 wonderful grandchildren that loved her so much and 19 beautiful great grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert Catholic Parish, 7 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Dedicated to higher education, The Louise and Ralph Hughes Bursary has been formed at St. Mary’s University College.
