(1962 - 2022)
It is with sadness and pain that Bradley Waugh, formerly of St. Albert, announces the sudden passing of his wife of 28 years, Susan (Susie) Waugh (née Taylor) who died in her sleep at the age of 59 on March 20, 2022.
Educated in Calgary and at Collège St Jean in Edmonton, Susie worked in the hospitality industry in Edmonton and until her recent retirement, in government services.
Susie was fierce, uproariously funny, and loyal. She was creative and no one could hold a candle to her for the way she handled colours, the way she could fashion furniture out of wicker, and especially for her prowess in the kitchen.
Susie will be mourned by all of the family she loved to cook for, and tease and entertain with jokes: the sisters and brother she leaves behind; Patrice, Jennifer, Terry (Louise), Sheila, Ally, Sarah (Ed) Brouwer; her husband Brad's children; Tamsen and Ryan and her many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Susie was predeceased by her brother Ian Nicholas Taylor in 2004; her sister Catherine Marie (Cayt) McGuire in 2009, her father, Nicholas William (Nick) Taylor in 2020 and her mother Margaret (Peg) Taylor (née Davies) in 2021.
She was a loving wife from start to finish. She was the first to ask for the blessings of anyone she may have wronged, and the last to nurse a grudge.
Susie will be interred at the St. Mary's Cemetery in the Taylor family plot, and her life celebrated by her family in a private function once summer has returned and it is warm enough to have a gathering outside.
If friends would like to leave a tribute or memento, please give to the Mustard Seed in Calgary in Susie's memory. Susie's family can be contacted for condolences by writing Brad Waugh, 429 6th Street SE, Redcliff, AB T0J 2P2.
