It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Marie Rose Sullivan on April 18, 2025, at the age of 93. While we grieve her passing, we take comfort in the endless love and support and countless memories she gifted us.
Marie will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She leaves to mourn her loss daughter Sonia (John) Thordarson, stepdaughter Eileen Sullivan, stepsons Brian (Allison) Sullivan and Kevin Sullivan. Also mourning her passing are grandchildren Ross (Alyssa), Nicholas, Aubrey, little great grandson Rowan, sisters Christina and Eileen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ireland, England, Australia, and U.S. Marie was predeceased by husband Matthew (2011) and stepdaughter Kathleen (2024).
Marie made the world a better place. She had a joy for life shown through her singing, dancing, laughter, and great sense of humour. She also had a creative and artistic side, loved to entertain, was an amazing cook, and a loyal Oilers fan. She was exceptionally kind, so very thoughtful, and will be greatly missed.
As Marie had a deep love of animals (especially for her beloved rescue cat Rosie) - in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS) or an animal rescue organization of your choice.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors and amazing nursing staff at the Sturgeon Community Hospital for their exceptional care, compassion, and support during Marie's brief illness.
