With heavy hearts and much love we announce the passing of Russ Smith, on January 12, 2021 due to complications from Covid-19. He was 90 years old.
Russ is lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 66 years, Helen, son Jamie (Sandy), daughters Lisa (John) Connors and Alyson (David) Haining; grandchildren James, Ryan (Monika), and Andrea (Kyle);and great-grandchildren Jackson and Kaje. Also mourning his loss is his brother Jim in Ontario, sister Mary in Scotland, and his nieces.
We would like to thank the staff from Unit 4 at Youville home for taking care of Russ this past year. We were often told he was your favorite resident, and that meant a lot to us.
At Russ’ request a service will not be held. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories, or STARS air ambulance.
