June 12, 1941 - June 22, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joanne Catherine Hickey (nee Gilchrist), after a long battle with dementia. Joanne was a devout Catholic and devoted member of Holy Family Catholic Parish.
She leaves to mourn her husband Larry, daughters Maureen, Sheilah (David) and Shannon, sister Sandra (Ernie) and brother Jim (Lorraine), her beloved grandchildren Kieran, Teagan and Declan, her stepmother Marion, her stepbrother Frank (Judy), stepsister Pat, many nieces and nephews and dear friends Shirley and Marilyn.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Sophie Gilchrist.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 75 Poirier Avenue, St. Albert on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. with cremation and private inurnment at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum to follow.
The family wishes to thank the staff of West Country Hearth and the Youville Home for their compassion and care of Joanne these past years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s name would be appreciated to The Marion Centre (10528 98 St., Edmonton T5H 2N4), where Joanne volunteered for many years.
