On Wednesday evening, December 11, 2024 at the Sturgeon Hospital, Kristen Sheidow passed away suddenly from complications due to Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. Kristen lived with this disease without complaint, her entire life.
Kristen was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to St. Albert with her family in 1983. She was the beacon of love and perseverance in the family and loved doting on the family pets Spunky, Teddy, Toby, Diddy and Baru during her lifetime.
Kristen is survived by her father, Jim and sister Tamara, her best friend and soulmate.
She was predeceased by her mother, Dianne in June 2024, who passed away from the same horrible disease.
Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Kristen would appreciate any donations in her memory be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Edmonton SPCA.
A huge thank you to the St. Albert paramedics who tried their hardest to save Kristen. Also to the emergency room doctors and nurses at the Sturgeon Hospital. Also thank you to Linda, a social worker at the hospital who spent time with us and kept us updated on Kristen’s condition.
Kristen we love you dearly, to the moon and back and we will miss you not being with us. Give Mom a big kiss for us and tell Mom we miss her too!
