Nolte

Born July 2, 1919 Died June 6, 2022

On June 6, 2022, Paula Nolte of Morinville, Alberta passed away at the age of 102 years, 11 months.

Paula (Oma) was our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many where ever she went. She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Rose-Mary Kennett of Westlock, Joe (Janice) Nolte of Morinville and Frank (Amy) Nolte of Edmonton, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  Paula will also be dearly missed by her friends and the staff at the Heritage Place Lodge in Morinville, where she resided for 10½ years.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Nolte, her parents Josef and Rosa Muller of Kellmunz, Germany, all of her 5 brothers and sisters in Germany and her daughter-in-law, Joan Nolte.

Paula was born in Kellmunz, Germany in the province of Bavaria and moved to Canada in 1951. There she started a new life, marrying Joe, becoming a mother, gardener and farm wife.  After Joe’s serious illness, she spent 20 years lovingly caring for him until his death in 1989.  She later became very involved in the community, recreational aqua-size, singing with the Morinville Minstrels, and volunteering where she was needed. All the while helping with grandchildren, gardening, knitting, needle point and reading whatever she could. She accomplished a lot in her 102 years.

The family wishes to send a special thank-you to the Staff and Home Care at the Heritage Place Lodge.

Your caring and support for Mama will always be remembered.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on June 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Emile Roman Catholic Church, 46th Street, Legal, AB.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada, all charities Oma supported.
