LEWIS, Marlene

Posted

It is with profound sadness that the family of Marlene Lewis of St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, announces her passing at the age of 79 years.  Marlene passed away on Dec. 5, 2022, with her family by her side.

She will be lovingly remembered by her partner, Dave Davies, and her son, Anthony Lewis.

Her siblings: Linda Lawrence, Anthony Caines, Paul Caines and Janet Caines.  Many cousins, nieces and nephews, inlaws, extended family, and friends are also grieving her passing.

Marlene was predeceased by her husband, James Lewis in 2010, and her son, Mark Lewis in 2022, her brothers: Dale Caines, Stephen Caines, and Donald Caines.

Marlene was born at the height of WWII in Swansea, Wales, where her family endured several large-scale bombing campaigns which forced them to flee their home several times for the countryside war shelters.

She was married in 1964 in Swansea and then emigrated, with her young family, to Canada in 1975.

The family then settled in St. Albert, Alberta where they were able to prosper with all of the great opportunities that Canada has to offer.

A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 16, 2022, at St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, AB.

Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We cannot thank enough, the St. Albert Emergency Services personnel and the skilled and dedicated medical teams of the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
