It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martin John Kennedy of Sturgeon County and St. Albert on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born on December 4, 1946, to Andrew and Bertha Kennedy, Martin was a dedicated and tireless worker. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his sister, Edith; sister-in-law, Annette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cherished friends, and respected colleagues.
Martin built a remarkable career spanning over 40 years with Lafarge Canada. He also proudly served as a Trustee for the Ironworkers Local 720 Edmonton Pension and Apprenticeship Board.
Outside of work, Martin found great joy in farming and raising purebred Hereford cattle. His love for animals was well known, and his farm was a true reflection of his passion. He cherished every gathering with his family and always looked forward to “cow talk” with his fellow farmers and lifelong friends.
Martin’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and dedication to both his family and community will be deeply missed.
