December 17, 1954 – February 8, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Cam Kaplar on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023 at the age of 68.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Debra; children Kimberly (Sean), and Sianna (Jason); sister Myrna, and brothers Randy, Donald, Clayton, Leslie, and Kelly; as well as numerous other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his parents George and Joyce; son Dean; and brother Jim.
Born in Kinistino, Cam’s younger life was spent in Saskatchewan. As an adult he moved to Alberta where he worked in the oil industry and then transitioned into corrections where he spent 34 years until retirement. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family; as well as friendly competition in golf and slow pitch.
The St. Albert Legion became an integral part of Cameron’s life for many years where he made close friends and spent countless hours playing darts, socializing, and helping out whenever he could.
At Cam’s request there will be no service, however a celebration of life will be held at the St. Albert Legion on Sunday, February 19th, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm to gather for snacks and drinks.
