September 7, 1962-April 16, 2020

We are sad to announce the sudden passing of Robert James Hugo on

Thursday April 16, 2020.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Rob will be remembered for his love, affection and tireless effort to care for his family.

Rob was born September 7, 1962 in Regina, Saskatchewan.  He grew up in Carlyle and then Estevan, Saskatchewan with his younger brother Norm and his parents Marg and Vic.  He grew up snowmobiling, fishing, playing hockey, baseball and golfing at a young age.

He married the love of his life Tammey Lawrence on April 25, 1981. They had one son Curtis who was born August 23, 1987.  Curtis brought much joy and laughter into their home.  They loved to camp, fish and snow mobile and even finished the odd golf game without a disagreement.  Rob loved to take Curt to different sporting events and even coached his hockey team for a few years. He was so proud of his son and was always there to lend a hand and help out.  Rob was so excited when Curt met Caitlin and he grinned ear to ear when his beautiful granddaughter Myla was born on October 14, 2016.  He always had time for Myla, Curt and Caitlin.

Rob had a strong work ethic and was always busy doing something.  He never liked sitting still and wasting time and he would tell you that too. He loved to golf in the summer and curling in the winter.  He practiced tirelessly to be the best he could be at both sports.

Rob will be sorely missed by his wife of 38 years Tammey, son; Curtis (Caitlin) and granddaughter; Myla.  He will be lovingly remembered by his brother; Norman, (Alison) and family, Aunt Sharon and Uncle Marvin and family as well as other aunts, uncles and several cousins.  His sister in-laws; Bonnie, (Doug) Doyle, Jacquie Lawrence, Marilyn Waugh and brother in-law; Rodney (Jackie) Lawrence and many nieces and nephews.  He will be greatly missed from his friends from afar and those close to him.

He was predeceased by his parents; Margaret and Victor Hugo.

The family would like to thank everyone for all their support during this time.  A celebration of his life will be held later when family and friends can come together to share memories of this great man who will be missed by many.
