The family of Hazel Holland of St. Albert is saddened to announce her passing on September 7, 2022, at the age of 94 years.
Hazel will be lovingly remembered by her children, Susan (Ben) Parraguez, Paul (Cathy)
Holland and Philip Holland; grandchildren, Jaedan, Gellen, Nicholas, Janine, Sandy, Connie, Kristy, Mikey, Nicole, Ross, Victoria, Tracy, LeeAnne, and Julie; as well as her many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Holland and son Peter Holland.
Born and raised in Rotherham, England, Hazel moved to Canada with her husband and children in 1968. Her family, friends, and community were the most important parts of her life. She was a loving, involved Mama and Nana always giving of her heart, hands, time, and wisdom. She was a passionate volunteer starting as a teen as a nurse’s aide during World War II, with her children’s activities, the residents’ board at her retirement home and the SHAVA gift shop at the Sturgeon Community Hospital. Hazel did everything in life with a song and witty humour. She loved giving hugs to anyone who needed one, affectionately scrunching faces, and making people smile with her baking, cooking, knitting, and sewing. She cherished family time with games and good food.
A private memorial service was held with interment in St. Albert Municipal Cemetery.
