Glenn Joseph Helten, age 80, of St. Albert, Alberta, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, surrounded by his children. Born on October 12, 1944, in Camrose, Alberta, Glenn grew up in the community of Heisler, Alberta, alongside his siblings Ramona, Ralph, Gerry, Maureen, Doris, Patrick, Trudy, and Carol, of whom Maureen and Carol survive him. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Minnie Helten. His warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Glenn was a devoted husband to his wife, Sylvia, and a cherished father to his six children: Reverdi (Shane), Andrea (Kevin), Nancy (Gavin), Cathy (David), Joseph (Maya), and Thomas. He was also a loving grandfather to Joshua, Madison, Alexandra, Samantha, Hayden, Brodie, Simone, and Hazel.
A funeral service to celebrate Glenn’s life, including the Liturgy of the Word, will be held on July 12, 2025, at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta. A visitation will take place from 1:00PM to 1:45PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00PM. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
