It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice Hamel,
who left us on January 2, 2025, at the age of 86. Maurice was a beloved
husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, whose
kindness, strength, and unwavering love enriched the lives of all who
knew him.
Born in Winnipeg on March 12, 1938, Maurice spent his life dedicated
to his family, his community, and his passions. He will be remembered
for his incredible sense of humor, his love for Jasper and the hot springs
and his dedication to his career as a crane operator local 955.
Maurice is survived by countless friends who cherished his presence in
their lives. He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Ruby Anne.
A celebration of Maurice’s life will be held in May 2025. His memory
will live on in our hearts forever.
