1925 – 2022
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Irmgard “Irma” Frenzel, passed away at the age of 96 years on June 22, 2022, in St. Albert, Alberta.
Her memory will be cherished by her son Roy (Susan); granddaughter Cat; nieces Erin, Margit, Inge (Peter) and Traudl (Roland); and nephews Peter (Yvonne), Alex, and Jörg (Cornelia). She was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, Gustav; her parents Irmgard and Johann; sister Trudy; brothers Hans and Gerhard; and brother-in-law, Gus.
Irmgard and Gustav moved to Canada from Austria following the second world war, and proudly obtained citizenship in 1957. After staying in Montreal for a short time, they moved to Ontario where they remained until 2000 when they moved to Alberta to be with their family. Irmgard loved animals (especially cats), music, and spending time with family as well as her many friends. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, humour, generosity, and welcoming nature.
