At sunrise on April 27, 2025, in St. Albert, Alberta, God took Grandma Kate (Katherine Jean Fowler) by the hand and walked her to Heaven’s kitchen table where her parents Bill and Ellen Hoffman are enjoying a coffee and cinnamon bun. Brother Mel Hoffman is there too.
Her husband Timothy David Fowler is simultaneously drenched in grief and relieved Miss Kate’s battle is over. Kathy won. As Kathy contemplated her life well lived, the most important aspect of her whole life was her sons, Matthew James, and Joshua David and their beautiful (she called them perfect) wives Celeste and Cherise.
Kathy’s love for her grandchildren is boundless. Kathy sparkled. But that sparkle was near blinding in the presence of her grandchildren: Kyla Ann, Luke William Otto, Noah Austin Paul, Adeline Grace, and William David.
She also had many wonderful friends and coworkers. Her Hoffman family on the farm in Saskatchewan were very close. Kathy’s brothers Dennis (Bertha), Raymond (Karen), Mel and sister Iva (Wayne), including nieces, nephews and their families were very close to her heart. She will be lovingly remembered.
The family will celebrate the beautiful life of this fiercely kind and loving woman, May 9, 2025, at what Kathy requested to be an “Old School Funeral.”
This celebration will be at Edmonton’s North Pointe Community Church at 11:00 AM. Light lunch to follow.
