Brian Earl Elliott passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, May 6, 2023. Brian is lovingly remembered by his children, Katie and Hannah, “forever-engaged” sweetheart Muriel Grimble, his brothers Garry (Vivien), Colin (Susan), Glenn (Nicole), predeceased by his sister, Sheila (Gary). Brian was loved by his many nieces, nephews, and all of the Grimble/Elliott family.

Brian grew up on a farm in Elmvale, ON, born to parents Earl and Velna (nee Doupe).

Brian was a lover of golf trips, fishing, Caesar Sundays, and tasty tomato sandwiches. He was an avid community member, involved for years coaching with St. Albert Ringette and helped found the Turkey Ring Tournament. He was also involved in community work through the St. Albert Cosmopolitan Club for over 30 years.

He brought joy to those whose lives he touched, even if it was only for a short time. He always made friends wherever he went and was happy to share a story with those who would listen. He loved to travel and had many stories to tell of his adventures. Costa Rica held a special place in his heart and was a place he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.  He was able to make one last trip there earlier this year when he attended his youngest daughter’s wedding in Costa Rica.

He cherished friendship and family as his number one priority. Quick-witted and always down for a good time, he made us laugh, he helped us when we needed him, and he cared about us deeply. He will be lovingly missed and remain forever in our hearts.

Celebrations of Life for Brian will be held on June 17th, 2023, from 1 PM to 4 PM at Red Willow Place (7 Tache Street, St. Albert). In celebration of Brian, attendees are encouraged to wear bright colours. There will also be a celebration held in Ontario in late summer 2023, dates TBD.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation.
