November 20, 1949 – April 2, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James Fredrick Donaldson, age 75, on April 2, 2025, in St. Albert, Alberta. Born on November 20, 1949, in St. John, New Brunswick, Jimmie was predeceased by his parents and the love of his life, Gail Donaldson.

Jimmie leaves behind his sons Mike and Dale (Jolene); his cherished grandchildren, Darian, Beckett, and Charlie; as well as his sisters, Lana Lind and Cathy (John) Hihn.

He will be missed by nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Bill, Victoria, and Madeline; along with numerous extended family and friends. Jimmie’s zest for life was boundless. He embraced every adventure, always ready to travel and explore with family and friends. His enthusiasm and love for life made him a beloved companion on every journey.

Whether it was a friendly family card game that stretched into the early hours of the morning or simply sharing laughter, Jimmie’s presence was always filled with

warmth and joy. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew him.

As we say goodbye, we are reminded of a quote that perfectly encapsulates Jimmie: “A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.”

A Celebration of Jimmie’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
