1950 - 2022
Linda passed away peacefully in the arms of her family December 28. She leaves behind in grief her husband, Gord; her daughter, Katherine (Chris) Van Den Biggelaar; son, Daniel (Ugo) Dodd; her sister, Donna Battye (George); brothers, Al (May), Jim (Terry) and Dave (Yvonne) Barazzuol.
Linda loved her children dearly and instilled in them the values of hard work and education. Her grandchildren were the joys of her life: Tristan, Analeigh, Zachary, Victoria, Matthew, and Noah. In their words she was safe, kind, and prepared for fun. She provided her children, and in turn her grandchildren, with many life experiences. She gave them a sense of family tradition from Christmas baking treats, crafting, and making jam. She shared her love of the outdoors and nature with summer camping, bird watching trips, winter walks across the Sturgeon River and buffalo hunts at Elk Island Park. Her grandchildren considered her the authority on most things and always said that “we should ask Grandma, she will know…”.
Her sense of adventure led her from hiking the Chilkoot Trail to an African Safari. Hawaii was a favourite winter spot where she could walk, snorkel, and stay warm. Linda loved to travel and yet was always happiest at home.
Mom, we will miss your compassionate and generous heart, and will always love you!
