(January 21, 1939 – December 6, 2020)
Bill was born and raised in Old’s, Alberta on his family’s farm. It is here his dedication to hard work really began but something special also happened in Old’s…In 1956 he met the love of his life Rose and in 1958 they married. A love that spanned 62 years.
Together they settled down and started a family having 5 children whom they love dearly. He worked hard to provide for his family by driving truck; a job that turned into a career driving for companies such as VLR, Trimac and MATCO. His skills in the trucking industry later lead him to both teaching and instructing while setting a standard of excellence in safety which he was recognized for by the Alberta Motor Transportation Association. Although he retired, he never truly stopped “driving”, the size just changed to a lawn tractor, a place he was truly happy to be.
But perhaps the most important part of his legacy was his love for family. Time with his loved ones was what he truly lived for whether it was a quick coffee visit or a camping weekend with everyone by the fire this was what he enjoyed most. His passions for the outdoors, mechanics, animals, agriculture and family can be seen in nearly every single one of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, something that speaks volumes of the man he was.
Sadly, it is those he leaves behind that will miss him terribly. His loving wife Rose Craig and their 5 children Randy (Judy) Craig, Connie (Wayne) Wishloff, Mike (Jackie) Craig, Lorna (Dave) Letendre and Carol (Will) Nault, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
It is the families hope that a celebration of life will be able to commence at a later date and in lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and/or Canadian Cancer Society.
