It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Landon (Lanny) Ryan Cooper, aged 37. Lanny will be lovingly remembered by all that knew him - his family, wife Ashley Kniazky, children Livia and JD, his father Jon Cooper (deceased), mother Carol Cooper (née Weatherly), siblings Kerri (husband Luke and children Sydney, Jazmyn and Max), Jason (partner Melissa and son Cruze), Dan, Brad (partner Ashley, children Alex and Oakley), Cam (wife Karin, and children Mattias and Maia) and Kandice (partner Daryl and children Oaklyn and Kash), extended family and all his many, many friends.
Lanny was born a kind soul. As a young man he was an accomplished athlete, playing baseball, soccer, hockey, especially excelling as a diver. He met and started dating his wife Ashley at school in 2001. He went on to earn his red and blue seal as a journeyman electrician, a job he enjoyed and was proud of.
Lanny was the most peaceful and gentle of men, the most loving husband and father. Lanny was loved by everybody that knew him and loved everybody that he knew. We will continue honour Lanny and he will live on through his children, through all the ways Lanny touched us and changed us with his kindness, and by our continued sharing of our stories and memories of this most beautiful person.
Lanny will be laid to rest on Saturday the 10th of December. All those that knew and loved Lanny are invited to join the family during the day.
Viewing begins at 11:30am, Service at 12:30pm followed by a lunch at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 10 Akins Drive, St. Albert.
He will be laid to rest at Northern Lights Cemetery, 15203 Campbell Rd NW, Edmonton at 3pm.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Life from 4:30pm.
To honour Lanny in the most appropriate of ways, the family invites you to perform an act of kindness with him in mind. Be kind - it is what Lanny would do.
