It is with extreme sorrow that we publish this obituary for Bradley Robert Cochet.  Brad passed away unexpectedly in his home on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the age of 39.

Brad was born in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, on November 6, 1983 to Larry and Joyce Cochet.  He was an easy going baby and toddler following around his older brother James.  Brad was a good student having been coached by his mother, an elementary school teacher.  Brad enjoyed playing soccer growing up which his father was avidly involved in and was always good at any sport (and videogame) he tried. Brad had a love and knowledge for all things computer related so he decided to attend NAIT in the Network technology program which he completed in 2003. His love for computers and video games continued throughout his life and he was the go-to guy for all things tech related. Brad worked for the same telecommunications company for 20 years and was immensely respected by all of his colleagues. He met his future wife Katie in 2005 through his friend Dustin and shortly thereafter they adopted their dog Mischa with whom they lived with for 15 years. From the beginning Brad and Katie were inseparable. They were married in Jamaica in 2012. Brad was a loving husband and parent, his family was his life. He loved spending time with his children, spending the majority of his time playing with and teaching them. It was obvious that they loved him back as they were always sad to see him leave, for any reason, and then greeted him with open arms when he returned. The love between him and his wife Katie was obvious to anyone who knew them. Brad was a supportive husband to Katie, always encouraging, helpful and kind. Brad had a wonderful group of friends who would describe him as their captain, their brother and their confidant. They'd say he was the first person they'd go to with news, good or bad. Brad was the bringer of knowledge but never condescending. He always lit up a room, his voice was easy to pick out of a crowd because he was usually laughing. As an uncle he was amazing and always ready to push them on a swing, babysit, play a game or be the first to snuggle the babies.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He has many relatives in the Cochet family from St. Louis, SK areas and the Stobbs family from Brancepeth and Birch Hills, SK areas. Brad is immediately survived by his wife of 10 years, Katie Cochet (Oberst), his son Clark, 7, and daughter Mabel, 4, his brother James and wife Jennifer Cochet (Shewfelt) as well as their two daughters Molly, 8 and Lia, 7. Brad was predeceased by his father, Larry Cochet, and his mother, Joyce Cochet (Stobbs).

His celebration of life will be held at the Normandy Room in Fort Saskatchewan,  located at 9964 93 Ave., on Friday,  December 23rd at 4pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the gofundme set up for his family at the link below.
