CARRUTHERS, Judy

Posted

1957 – 2024

Judy Carruthers (nee Sugg), a beacon of light and love in the lives of all who knew her, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, at the age of 67. Born on September 28, 1957, in Edmonton, AB, Judy's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on her hometown. Her final days were spent surrounded by the warmth of her family in St. Albert, AB, where she continued to spread joy and kindness until her last breath.

Judy's life was one of passion and friendship, traits that endeared her to many. She was the beloved wife of Merv, with whom she shared countless cherished moments and adventures. As a devoted mother to her daughter Crystal, Judy's legacy of love and strength will live on. Her grandchildren, Vanessa, Ashton, and Paisley, were the light of her life, and she reveled in their every achievement and dream. Judy was a caring sister to Neil, Debbie (Richard), and Barbara (Doug), and her guidance and laughter will be profoundly missed.

She was predeceased by her loving parents, Alfred and Eleanor, and leaves behind numerous relatives and friends who were touched by her generous spirit.

She will be deeply missed by all.  Her competitive nature shone brightly on the ice and the field, as she was not only a great hockey player but also had a love for baseball that was infectious to all who played with her.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Covenant Care - Foyer Lacombe, St. Albert in Judy’s memory.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Foyer Lacombe  and Unit 15 at the Sturgeon Hospital for the help and support shown to Judy.
