It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Joyce Caplan (nee Brohman).

On December 29, 2022 in St. Albert, Patti Joyce Caplan passed away. Patti is survived by her loving family;  husband Barry, children Jodi-Lynn, Kelti-Lee (Bob) brothers Jim (Lori), Larry (Rita), Mike (Sharon), grandchildren Carson, Tyson, and Brooklyn-Belle, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who absolutely adored her. She was predeceased by her parents, Al and Rita Brohman.

Patti was the most incredible woman who truly left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Everything she did went above and beyond;  she never settled for average. Her personal flare in every single thing she did goes completely unmatched. She loved to laugh more than anything and her wit, sense of humour and ability to light up a room were her super powers. She thrived on learning peoples’ stories, reading the future, offering remarkable advice and deeply connecting with every age group. Her true passion was being surrounded by her family (including all the dogs that were always welcome).

We all knew that a night with Patti would be never ending laughter, singing and just pure joy. Her “joie de vivre” will go unsurpassed.

A special thank you to the Home Instead team who by providing exemplary care to Patti, truly became part of our family. The compassion and dignity you brought everyday were so loved and appreciated by us all.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert Catholic Parish at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023. Private Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
