1947 – 2023
It is with a profound sense of loss that the family of Roddy (Rod) Neville Bird announce his peaceful passing on May 11, 2023 at the age of 76.
He will lovingly be remembered by his wife of 30 years, Anne; his step-children, Doug Milne (Tara), Jillian Milne, and Andrew Milne (Erin); and his beloved grandchildren, Chase, Easton, Sawyer, Ty, and Ellery as well as extended family and friends.
Rod was born and raised in Ontario but after joining the Federal Public Service traveled across Canada finally settling in the Edmonton area in 1989 as the Director of Human Resources with CEIC/HRSDC until his retirement in 2006.
Rod loved all animals and spent many happy retirement hours enjoying the company of his furry companion, Kona.
In accordance with Rod’s wishes, cremation has take place and no services will be held.
