Foote Field – A rash of injuries halfway through the season are taking their toll on the winless St. Albert Storm. “It’s tough with injuries to key players.

The St. Albert Skyhawks are rucking and mauling again after a one-year absence in metro Edmonton high school rugby. Their return to league play kicked off in Wednesday’s 22-0 loss to the O’Leary Spartans at the St.

The main event this weekend at Servus Credit Union Place is the women’s wheelchair basketball tournament hosted by the Edmonton Inferno.

Travis McKay was blown away by the accomplishment of winning the 25th annual St. Albert 10-Mile Road Race.

The Edmonton Inferno wheelchair basketball team is hosting a women’s tournament and skills clinic this weekend at Servus Credit Union Place.

The numbers added up to a winning performance by Graham Plomp at provincials in St. Albert. The national youth competitor with the host Dynamyx Gymnastics Club qualified for the Canadian championships by placing third all-around at 67.

The 25th anniversary celebration of the St. Albert 10-Mile Road Race was a smashing success. “It was just amazing,” said race director Dave Wilson with the St. Albert Roadrunners and Triathlon Club.

Tara Struyk was slower than expected as the fastest female for the second straight year at the St. Albert 10-miler.

The St. Albert Storm got beat up by the Battle River Shock in Thursday’s crushing defeat in midget spring league football at Clarke Park.

Jasper Place – St. Albert rinks skipped by Kathy Piper and Doug McLennan swept the women's and mixed finals at the Tournament of Championships.
