The Edmonton Oil Kings gave it their best shot but still came up short in Monday’s playoff tussle with the Red Deer Rebels at Rexall Place.

The St. Albert Junior Stars completed a season to remember in tier 1 novice. Their record was a near-perfect 43 wins, zero losses, two ties and one overtime loss.

The St. Albert men’s and women’s President’s Cup champions are curling this weekend in the Dominion Club Championships at the Ottewell Curling Club. The A, B and C winners qualify for provincials in October at the Crestwood.

St. Albert's most prolific curling team continued its domination in the club playoffs with another men's championship.

Ross Sheppard High School – The Paul Kane Blues ended their season on a losing note at the 4A provincial men's high school basketball championship.
