The Woodlands Water Play Park is open for business.
According to aquatic services manager Edith Martin, the outdoor water park opened today, almost a week ahead of schedule, made possible by good weather and completing staff training ahead of schedule.
“We’re ready to go,” she said Monday, when temperatures reached 25 C. “We’re pleased we’re able to do this.”
Martin said the early opening was the first in the park’s 15-year history. Normally, she said the park would open on May long weekend but the work and weather combined made the early opening possible.
“The weather is going to be great,” she said. “We’ve already had people calling in asking if the park’s open.”
The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, weather permitting. Martin said park officials typically open the park at a minimum temperature of 16 C with favourable weather conditions.
Martin added that Grosvenor Outdoor Pool would open on Saturday as scheduled.
