This local organization is committed to the support of seniors in our community and surrounding areas and is seeking two individuals from the community to assist with the leadership and general promotion of the organization, as well as advise, govern and oversee policy and direction. The organization is looking for one youth board member and one other board member. Assist with this board and provide your unique perspective and input.
Do you enjoy working with children and youth? Volunteer to be a soccer coach. Coach four-year-olds where your main role is to coax and encourage the beginners in the game, or other age groups, right through to the older teens. The outdoor season runs April through June and both recreational and competitive coaches are welcome. Coach courses and training are offered and available, but not mandatory. Make a difference in a young person’s life.
If you are a people person with good public relations skills and have experience handling cash and operating a cash register, consider volunteering in our local hospital’s gift shop. Commitment is once a week with various shifts available.
In this volunteer role, you will support the marketing and communications area of this organization in the preparation of material for publication in print and e-newsletters, annual reports, brochures and the website. This opportunity allows a flexible schedule, the ability to complete assignments from home and the chance to build your portfolio of writing clips.
Feeding assistant
Are you a compassionate person and who enjoys seniors? Volunteers are needed in a local seniors’ home to assist residents with meals. Feeding assistants needed for all meals and any day of the week, but most in need of help on the weekends.
Are you available April 16 to 18 to help with the St. Albert trade show? Various positions available at this family and community event include admissions desk, ambassadors for the event, stage area and concession maintenance and manning the volunteer lounge, fire exits and exhibitors’ door. Have some fun and meet some dynamic new people. Shifts are flexible to fit your schedule.
Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth (PARTY) — help a team of committed community members present this hard hitting and informative program to today's youth at the Grade 9 level. The focus is to impact on youth the consequences of making bad choices and to prevent tragedy. Medical background would be an asset but not necessary.
