Do you enjoy books and working with children of all ages? Help children go through the summer reading game, assisting them with various activities along the way. Volunteers must have completed a minimum of Grade 8. Program runs June 25 to Aug. 17. Morning, afternoon and evening shifts available, approximately three or four hours each, with lots of flexibility to fit with your schedule and summer holidays.

Enjoy the beautiful summer days and help to bring this family event to our community. Volunteer at St. Albert’s downtown outdoor market and assist with set up and take down, handing out vendor numbers and buttons, answering questions about vendors and products, working the lost and found, selling market bags and helping with activities on special days. Market runs Saturdays, June 13 to Sept. 26.

Volunteer at one of our community’s major heritage sites, St. Albert Grain Elevator Park. Special events include July 1 Dominion Day and the Aug. 29 Harvest Fest, where you will be assisting with children’s programming for the afternoon. Minimum age is 13 years.

This agency provides support through compassion, education, and friendship to those who have lost a loved one through death, and is looking for a volunteer to become a board member and to help with computer work. Primary responsibilities will include updating brochures, website updates and other computer work, as required. This virtual volunteer can do most of the work at home. Hours flexible.

Help at this popular, family focused kids’ triathlon with lots of multisport fun, Sunday, June 14 in St. Albert. Emphasis is on fun and safety where volunteers work inside the pool counting lanes, outside directing traffic and in the transition area and water stations. Marshals help athletes find their way and boost the morale of the kids with cheering along the way.

Do you have some time to give to this organization, helping those in need of affordable housing in St. Albert? Offer your administrative, computer or organizational skills. Flexible three-hour shifts, Monday through Friday.

More than 1,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from all over Alberta will converge on St. Albert for these games from June 26 to 28 and many volunteers are needed to help make it a success. Choose from a wide variety of roles such as officials, judges, security, chauffeurs, marshals, medical, registrars, food services, hosts, set up and take down at sites. Be a part of helping these athletes reach their goals and a part of the provincial games’ experience.
