Want to volunteer and give back to the community, but don’t know how to get involved? We can help you. The St. Albert Community Information & Volunteer Centre has many volunteer opportunities to choose from and can help find the right fit for you, even if you are not sure of what that might be. For information on any of the following volunteer opportunities, or to call and discuss other opportunities, call 780-459-6666 or visit the website www.govolunteer.ca.

Get involved and help with this fun St. Albert event on Sunday, April 15. Assistance is needed with route set up, route marshals, water and food stations and hospitality. Come out and enjoy the outdoors and lend a helping hand at the same time.

Do you have an interest in crime prevention and are you looking for an opportunity to serve in our community? This St. Albert organization is looking for a director to serve on its board of directors, to assist with ongoing crime prevention programs. Help this organization provide our community with a more secure and safe place to live every day.

Are you available April 19 through 22 to help with this St. Albert trade show? Various positions are available at this family and community event, include admissions desk, ambassadors, stage area and concession maintenance, parking attendant, assisting with kids’ activities, entertainment stage, volunteer lounge, fire exits, or setup and take down. Have some fun and meet some new people. Shifts are flexible to fit your schedule.

Do you have some time to share each week with someone in need of some companionship? Share your gift of listening and good conversation as you visit with this individual and share your love of playing dominoes or enjoy weekly visits with another individual as you help by driving him to appointments and on errands. Many other opportunities exist, as well, with others in need of a friendly visitor.

Do you enjoy working with children and youth? Then make a difference in a young person’s life and volunteer to be a soccer coach or co-coach where you share the responsibilities. There are lots of age groups to choose from – coach four year olds where your main role is to coax and encourage the beginners in the game, or other age groups right through to the older teens. The outdoor season runs April through June. Coach courses and training are offered and available, but not mandatory.
