Catch the Christmas spirit. Be a part of the 2010 Homes for Christmas tour in St. Albert and help the seniors in our community, Dec. 1 to 4. Be a greeter or security in the homes, a host/hostess at the centre, bus driver, baker to bake Christmas treats, decorator to help decorate the centre and homes or gala assistants in the kitchen and backstage on Thursday evening.

Do you have a medical background and are you empathetic, compassionate and relate well to seniors? Help at this senior’s facility on the first Tuesday of each month to do a blood pressure clinic in the afternoon.

Are you well organized and comfortable working on the Internet? Assist this organization as a researcher and correspondent in an effort to promote the registry and theft prevention. Work can be done in your home.

Help this organization that takes action against sexual violence and works to empower individuals affected by sexual abuse and assault. Assist them to fundraise by helping to set up and run weekend afternoon bingos.

In this upcoming season of giving, volunteer to support this organization that helps so many in need all year. From Nov. 19 to Dec. 24, help to accept donations at various St. Albert locations. Shifts are three hours each. Minimum age to volunteer is 14 years of age.

Do you enjoy meeting people and helping others? The Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games are coming to St. Albert Feb. 24 to 27, 2011 and need individuals to help host and represent the games and the community of St. Albert. While you help others with questions they might have, you will mingle with people from across Alberta and help to make it a memorable event for all.

Do you have intermediate alpine skiing or snowboarding skills? Help people with disabilities to live richer and fuller lives by sharing those skills and providing ski or snowboard instruction to these individuals. Lessons are Wednesday evenings at Rabbit Hill, during an eight-week Learn to Ski Program, Jan. 12 to March 2, 2011.

Work one-on-one with an adult to improve reading, writing and math skills, as well as English as a second language for some clients. Hours are flexible to your schedule and program breaks for the summer months.

Do you have good communication skills? Are you physically fit and able to do lots of walking and some lifting? If so, then help this St. Albert organization with its recycling program on Thursday mornings.
