In accordance with EPCOR ending its ban on non-essential water use for residents and businesses in the capital region this morning, the City of St. Albert has lifted its own water use restrictions.
“Like EPCOR, the City is grateful to the residents and businesses who stepped up to reduce their non-essential water use,” reads a public service announcement made by the city this afternoon. “Thanks to our collective efforts, we were able to reduce St. Albert’s water draw, helping the region manage its water use while repairs were underway at the E.L. Smith water treatment plant.”
“Although the current situation is resolved, it serves to remind us that water is a precious resource and we should take simple steps to reduce our water use throughout the year.”
