On Wednesday, Alberta Health Services reported 28 people have recovered from the virus in the city. Two people are still considered active cases.

Sturgeon County still has one active case of someone suffering from COVID-19. Eleven people in the county have recovered from the virus.

Across the province, there have been a total of 5,963 people confirmed to have contracted COVID-19 since the pandemic started. Seventy of those cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours. The lion's share of those cases (67 per cent) are in the Calgary zone.

Roughly 60 per cent of the people who have contracted the virus so far – 3,552 – have recovered.

The province is planning phase one of its economic relaunch to start May 14, where retail services, hair styling and barbershops, daycares, museums and art galleries are expected to open back up. Restaurants, cafes, lounges and bars will be able to open at 50 per cent capacity. Additional outdoor recreation and allied health services will also be able to restart.
