Two more St. Albert residents have died from COVID-19, as reported by the province on Wednesday.
Data, current from Feb. 22, showed the number of people who have died from the virus in the city increased to 69 from the 67 reported last Thursday.
Provincial data showed the number of active COVID cases in St. Albert had dropped by 56 to 210 on Wednesday.
Sturgeon County COVID cases also dropped by 56. The province reported 54 active cases of the virus in the county today, compared to 110 reported last week, with no new deaths (17 to date).
The number of active COVID cases in Morinville had dropped by four. Provincial data showed there were 34 cases of the virus in the town, as reported Wednesday, with no new deaths (14 to date).
Province-wide hospitalizations had dropped to 1,373, compared to the 1,491 reported last Thursday. The number of people in ICU had fallen by 26 to 90, the province reported on Wednesday.
The number of active COVID cases Alberta-wide had fallen to 11,189, as reported by the province on Wednesday, compared to the 16,551 reported last week.
Numbers from the province, current from Feb. 22, indicated the positivity rate had fallen to 23.1 per cent, compared to 27.06 per cent reported last Thursday.
Alberta-wide COVID-related deaths had increased by 61. Numbers from the province showed 3,883 Albertans have died from the virus, to date.
