Anyone who has watched the movie Peace by Chocolate is familiar with heartwarming story of a Syrian family who immigrated to Canada and integrated into their East Coast community by sharing their joy of making chocolates.
Through St. Albert’s Rivers Edge Counselling Centre’s sponsorship, Tareq Hadhad, founder and CEO of Peace by Chocolate will be speaking at the Arden Theatre on Oct. 26.
Given the devastating earthquake in Syria and Türkiye, Hadhad’s Peace by Chocolate company is filling out orders of fundraising bars. So far, $240,000 has been raised and 100 per cent of proceeds will be donated to Canadian Red Cross relief efforts in the affected areas.
