"Take care of yourself ": Wynn family sends support to slain EPS officer families

"Be kind to yourselves and let your heart grieve this time. Know you will always have a strong family here for you, across the country, who know the pain and will always be there for you. Remember to take care of yourself first and no matter what you are feeling it is ok and you are never alone."

Shelly MacInnis-Wynn and her three sons are sending their "deepest love, strength and heartfelt condolences" to the families and friends of the two slain Edmonton Police Officers.

"We know that the days to come will feel unbearable, but lean on your friends, family and especially the members of EPS and the Canadian Police Association, who helped us in our time of need," MacInnis-Wynn said.

On Thursday morning Edmonton Police Chief Dale McFee addressed the media to confirm that Const. Travis Jordan, 35, and Const. Brett Ryan, 30, were killed earlier that day while responding to a domestic incident at an apartment building in Edmonton’s northeast community of Inglewood.

MacInnis-Wynn lost her husband in Const. David Wynn after a routine license plate check in 2015. Wynn was shot and killed in the former Apex Casino by Shawn Rehn.

"It is with great heartbreak, once again, that myself and my three sons would like to send our deepest love, strength, and heartfelt condolences to the families of Const. Ryan and Const. Jordan," MacInnis-Wynn said.

"Be kind to yourselves and let your heart grieve this time. Know you will always have a strong family here for you, across the country, who know the pain and will always be there for you. Remember to take care of yourself first and no matter what you are feeling it is ok and you are never alone."

"We would also like to send love to all EPS members and the first responders who had to endure this tragedy."
