The first week of May is bringing summer-like weather to St. Albert, with sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures in the forecast.

Environment Canada is predicting highs reaching 26 C by Friday and up to 28 C on Saturday — well above the average early May high of 16.8 C. Overnight lows are expected to stay mild, hovering around 9 C.

South winds will pick up heading into the weekend, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h at times. But skies are expected to remain mostly clear through Sunday, with little to no chance of rain in the immediate forecast.

The long-range outlook suggests the warm and dry trend could continue well into next week, offering ideal conditions for outdoor activities and patio season.
