St. Albert football fans will have access to a free park-and-ride service at the Nakî Transit Centre for all Edmonton Elks home games this season, the city announced today.

Starting two hours before kick-off, residents can head to the Nakî Transit Centre and hop-on an Edmonton Transit Service bus to get to Commonwealth Stadium. The city's website says the park-and-ride service will function for two hours after each game.

Those wishing to use the service will just need to show a valid game ticket.

The service will begin this Saturday when the Edmonton Elks host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the final pre-season game before the regular season starts.

The Elks 2023 home opener is June 11 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Coming off a disappointing 2022 season, in which the green and gold were tied with the Ottawa Redblacks for the worst win-loss record in the CFL, the Elks franchise is also looking to improve attendance numbers this year as the team has reported an $18 million loss over the past four years.

Elks season tickets range from $120-$800, depending on seat location. Single game tickets are available for $21.
